About Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque
The Bahia del Duque is probably the most famous hotel in Tenerife and with good reason. Stunning unique architecture, fabulous facilities, 5 star service and a beautiful situation overlooking the now famous Del Duque beach. You really couldn’t ask for much more.
The Bahia del Duque covers an area of 100 000m², of which 63 000m² are gardens. A few of the 5 swimming pools join together to form cascades, flowing from one level to the other, creating ponds and rivers. Each of the 19 buildings differs from the other, creating a feeling of an authentic town, steeping gently to the sea front. The costumes of the staff are stylised to copy traditional Canarian dress.
Most of the 357 rooms have been decorated by Pascua Ortega, the Madrid-born interior designer, who has also decorated the private houses of the Spanish Royal Family. Pascua Ortega is responsible for the look of the 40 new exclusive villas opened in January 2008.
The the Bahia del Duque may be famous in its own right, it also attracts its own fair share of famous people such as Michael Schumacher, Margaret Thatcher, Brian May, Mariah Carey, Luis Miguel, John Major and many others.
Cuisine
Bahía del Duque Resort offers an extraordinary gastronomical range with 8 restaurants and 9 bars, allowing guests to enjoy a unique and extensive culinary experience. Choosing the appropriate place for each occasion becomes an enjoyable task.

• Las Aguas: a la carte Restaurant in the Villa part of the resort, run by the Michelin Star chef Salvador Gallego.
• La Brasserie: French cuisine in a friendly, colourful atmosphere.
• La Trattoria: the Italian corner of the hotel, a warm and friendly atmosphere. Open for evening meals.
• Beach Club: All the flavour of the sea, the place to enjoy seafood, rice, fresh fish and the best of Mediterranean cuisine. All with beautiful views of the sea and beside the main pool.
• La Tasca: Spanish cuisine offered in a wide variety of styles from elaborate dishes to typical tapas and raciones (bar snacks and portions). Live music with Flamencan guitar.
• La Casa Del Lago: The authentic flavour of Canarian cuisine, in addition to a varied selection of fresh fish on the Duque Beach promenade.
• La Hacienda: Gastronomy with a difference. Latin colour and atmosphere, offering a gastronomical tour of three continents.
• Café La Bahía: Informal restaurant on the promenade with an incomparable view of the ocean.
• La Placita: Snack-Bar with homemade cakes and ice-creams beside one of the hotel’s spectacular pools.
• Lobby Bar: located beside the main reception, this is the perfect place for a coffee whilst admiring the impressive cupola that covers the resort lobby.
• Piano Bar: Fantastic atmosphere with a range of coffees and cocktails with live music and live shows.
• Rincón del Café: The best part of the hotel for an exquisite coffee or carefully selected teas with classic patisserie, confectionery and sandwiches in the evening.
• El Chiringuito: On the promenade, a place to relax or have a drink whilst enjoying the beach and sea.
From the Bahia del Duque, you can take part in a range of diverse activities like surfing, windsurfing, water skiing, parasailing, deep sea fishing, horse riding, yacht charter or golf.
Golf lovers have six golf courses in the surrounding area, where one can play throughout the year in an incomparable climate. In the hotel you can participate in dance, painting, ceramics and tennis classes.
On the promenade, a place to relax or have a drink whilst enjoying the beach and sea.
An entertainment programme for adults and children is available. There is also a giant chess, a bridge room and a reading room, as well as dance and painting classes. The nearest golf course lies about 3.5km away.

The rooms in the bahia del Duque are superb, and have recently been renovated by the designer Pascua Ortega. They offer a full bathroom with shower, bath and hairdryer, air-condition, mini bar, hire safe, internet access, satellite TV and balcony or terrace.
Many rooms have marvellous views over the Atlantic Ocean and the exuberant hotel gardens. The Manor Houses (Casas Ducales) offer a Butler service, pillow and sheet menu and daily press. The new 1 or 2-bedroom villas (opening 2008), offer additionally a kitchenette, garden, private pool, butler service, exclusive reception, porter and other exclusive services.
